ABOUT US HISTORY

WELDMENTS INC HISTORY

Founded in 1964 by John M. Gleasman & Partner, James E. Johnson, Weldments Inc. quickly made a name for itself in the Machine Tool and Heavy Industrial Fabrication market. Soon, it outgrew the original location below the Rock River Dam in Rockford, IL.

John's son, Steve Gleasman, started working at Weldments Inc. in 1983, eventually taking over as president in 1993 following his father's retirement. Over the next 30 years, Steve and his long-time friend and General Manager, Dan Riley, grew Weldments Inc. into what we are today. Although recently retired in July of 2024, Steve remains active in the success of Weldments.

CHOOSE WELDMENTS

Why Choose Weldments for Your Stateside Supply Chain?

  • Bring Production Back Home – With Confidence

Many companies that moved overseas found lower prices, but also unpredictable delivery, quality issues, and costly disruptions. With changing tariffs and the push for onshoring, domestic sourcing has never been more important. Weldments is ready to be your partner in that transition.

  • Our Value Proposition

    • Predictable Lead Times – No overseas shipping delays. Your projects stay on schedule.

    • Certified Quality – AWS-certified welding and rigorous inspections on every job.

    • True Cost Advantage – Eliminate hidden costs like rework, expedited freight, and tariffs.

    • Direct Communication – Weekly updates and real-time answers from people who know your project.

    • Supply Chain Strength – Sourcing locally reduces risk and keeps your operations resilient.

Let’s build a stronger, more reliable future together — right here at home.
